Doctor Faustus; a play by Christopher Marlowe. It is based on the story Faust which is a German story. The script is about a man who sells his soul to the devil for power and control over what he wants.Christopher Marlowe died 11 years after Doctor Faustus was first published in 1604.
1580s was when the play/script was set in Europe, specifically Italy and Germany. The main protagonist (main character) in the play is Faustus, the main subject within the play is that Faustus sells his soul to Lucifer for 24 years of control and power, but as the story progresses the fear of hell dawns on Faustus.
