We decided to make a typical chiefs hat, white and with a 'puffy' bit on top. We planned to make the head support part out of layers of cardboard to make it secure and durable then covered in a layer of white cloth and the top 'puffy' part out of a balloon surrounded by white cloth then stapled to the head support.
To conclude, everything went according to plan even if it did take a very long time to staple the top part to the head support. One issue we did have though was the balloon popped so we had to fill the top white cloth with a large plastic bag.
The back story to our chief was he was once a world renowned chief who created the most tasteful dishes, but one rainy day a critic criticized his work and he was sent into a deep depression, the story is about him regaining his confidence to cook and become the man he used to be, whilst the antagonist of this story is the critic who will not rest until the chief stays out of the kitchen.
The chief's emotional status starts off un-happy and depressed as he sits alone in his small house eating take away's and junk food, but a glimmer of hope in his heart arises as he hits a state of realization that the world is still missing out on his great food, the rest of the story shows how his emotional status increases.
His social status though starts of lonely as he lives alone and doesn't have any friends or communicates with anyone. The story progresses and he become famous and regains he status, the end of the story shows him having high status against the critic who ruined his life.
The period my group and I decided he should be in was present times in a big city like New York as we found this a better era to base our character and a more suitable story.
